Learn More About Attorney Matthew Williams
I’m excited to start my own practice and understand how important it is to introduce myself. Please feel free to learn more about me and how I can better serve you! Thank you.
Matthew Williams was born in Miami, Florida and he attended high school in the South Florida area. After graduating from high school, Attorney Williams attended Florida A&M University as a Presidential Special Scholarship recipient, where he was a member of the White and Gold Honor Society, the Phi Sigma Theta Honor Society and Phi Alpha Delta Pre Law Fraternity. He also served on the Activities and Service Budget Committee before ultimately graduating with honors in 2010.
Attorney Williams attended law school at Florida State University College of Law where he served as President of the Black Law Student Association. He was also a member of the Association for Criminal Justice and the Student Federal Bar Association. While attending law school, he had the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Oxford in England, and he then served as a Legal Intern to the Honorable Roger L. Gregory at the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Throughout law school, Attorney Williams was most proud of his work as a mentor with the Leon County School Board, where he worked with students who attended school in low-income areas in an effort to help them maximize their full potential. As a volunteer, Attorney Williams recorded over 600 hours of community service and was named the Leon County Volunteer of the Year in 2009 and 2010.
After graduating from law school in 2013, Attorney Williams began his legal career by working as a trial lawyer in the Public Defender’s Office handling misdemeanor, criminal traffic and juvenile delinquency cases. He soon began representing clients charged with first, second and third-degree felonies, and since then he’s conducted over 50 jury trials, dozens of non-jury trials, and many more bond hearings, violation of probation hearings and stand your ground hearings. He’s been successful in representing clients charged with everything from trespassing to murder, and he takes pride in helping his clients through the seal/expunge process after resolving their case.
Attorney Williams began working in private practice in 2016 and he founded the Law Office of Matthew C. Williams, PLLC, in 2020. He enjoys fishing, cycling and being outdoors in his spare time, as well as spending time with his wife and two boys.
